I'm kind of in shock after finding this website. I've been planning a road trip very similar to this for about two years, on the day I graduate high school. Please, if when the trip's over, you could recommend some places for me to check out, that would be incredible-- and definitely check out Travels with Charley, I saw someone had recommended that book... It's my personal favorite.

Hey Courtney, I don't think the comment section on this blog allows us to embed video.

Everybody else follow this link to watch the video: http://www.youtube.com/v/b0wfu3tOrtQ

Wow I cannot believe you guys are finally off!

Take your time, enjoy it all. I am glad that you are able to make this trip. The seasonal timing is pretty good as well. The Northwest when it is the hottest; the southwest desert, when it is the coolest.

Take advantage of the contacts available to you to help your money stretch. Figure out where the good local hangouts are and get a true picture of America at its best!

I know you are working on seeing the monuments and National Parks. Mike will be sure to make the presidential libraries and ball parks. Be on the lookout for the funky whole in the wall sightseeing attractions that are advertised on the road signs. Those are the special sites that have great meaning to the identity of the local. You can see an amusement park any where. You can only see Big Ole and the Kensignton Runestone can only be found in Alexandria Minnesota!

Mt Rushmore in South Dakota

Navy Pier in Chicago

Don'y miss the City Museum (not your average museum) in Down Town St Louis.

Glacier Park, in Montana.

MOre to come!

Have a great time. Don't spend all your gas money in one plce.
